I saw him in 2010 at the Music Box in Hollywood...people just didnt seem aware he was playing that night, because tickets were available up to the last minute...we sat in the front of the balcony, ...a similar play list and great stories...first set acoustic...his finger-picking on 4 and20, and Treetop Flyer was absolutely eloquent. Everyone on their feet for most of the 2nd set- insanely good,...I can't fault his voice, who does sing the same as I did 30 yrs ago?...and it wouldn't be Stills if it wasn't a bit off-key - it all works for me, and will continue do so. Enjoyed reading your notes!

Pat, we met outside of LMF post-Fest last year (or the year before). You regaled us with tales of being of service to those needing some attention at Winterland and other BGP venues. You've truly lived it!

Oh, miss those Meters Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras shows at Tips. Miss Bill Graham. I was fortunate to be stationed in SF '79-83 and made many shows. Worked 1st aid for many at SF Civic, Oakland Coliseum, Cow Palace, US Fest. Only had a 110 back then. None of those pics have survived.

James, thanks for the great blog and images. After seeing their wonderful show myself last night at The Warfield in S.F. all I can say is AMEN. It's also nice to finally know why I didn't get a lot of dates back then. BTW, I always remembered it as you having the juice to get us into the Troubadour that night, how DID that happen at 15 ?.., sure did crack me open, too, thanks buddy.

Linda, thanks for the props (you're one to talk!). I plug you and the show every chance I get and hope we find a way to work on something together.

Best,

First caught MA in 2009 but had been aware of them for some time before. They are handmade and all sparkle in their own way. The two bands also have a special relationship and feed each other's fan base. Pretty cool stuff.

Please share the www.eyeonthemusic.com blog/website with anyone who appreciates musical imagery with a fans eye.

Best,

JB
